Nina Scattaregia, Artistic Director & Owner

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nina received her early training from Jerry Abbott/Dance Arts. She graduated from Point Park University, with a B. A. in Dance and minor in Psychology. Nina choreographed and taught dance for over 10 years in Pittsburgh including the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Canevin High School, Chatham College Summer Arts, the Pittsburgh Savoyards/Pirates of Penzance and The Dance Center for Jean Gedeon, now Pittsburgh Youth Ballet. In 1992, she relocated to Buckhannon and is married to Dr. Frank Scattaregia and has one son, Jason. Nina opened The Dance Factory in 1994 and founded  the Augusta Youth Ballet Company, a non-profit performance ensemble in 1998. Nina has been an Adjunct Dance Instructor at West Virginia Wesleyan College from 1993 to 2005 in the Dept. of Musical Theatre and Dance from 1993 to May, 2015 teaching ballet, jazz, modern, tap, choreography/improvisation and dance repertory classes. For several of those years, she coordinated the Dance Minor program and the Wesleyan Winter Dance Festival.

Sasha Bennett, Gymnastics Instructor

Sasha has been teaching gymnastics at The Dance Factory for more than 8 years and brings here experience in competitive gymnastics to her students. Sasha trained and competed at the West Virginia Training Center for gymnastics in Morgantown, WV. While competing in gymnastics, her specialties were in floor exhibition and balance beam. Sasha also trained in ballet, jazz and modern dance at The Dance Factory and was a member of the Augusta Youth Ballet Company. She is the proud mother of daughter, Socia, age 4, one of TDF tiny tumblers.
Bridget Bonamico, Dance Instructor - Dance Studio, Dance Lessons in Buckhannon, WV

Bridget Bonamico, Dance Instructor

Bridget graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in May of 2013 with a Major in Business Management and a Minor in Dance. Bridget is currently employed as the Office Manager at Klie Law Offices. She has been dancing for the last twenty years and her experiences have been ample. She began seriously dancing at the age of eleven at Annabel Timms’ School of Ballet in Bridgeport where she studied tap, jazz, ballet and pointe. Some of her major appearances were as the Arabian Queen in The Children's Nutcracker, Tantomile in CATS, Chastity in Anything Goes, Mimi in Guys and Dolls and Cha Cha in Grease. Bridget was a founding member of both the Bridgeport High School Dance Ensemble and the Bridgeport High School Danceline. In college Bridget began studying modern dance and worked with well known teachers such as Donald Laney, Toneta Akers-Toler, Gretchen Moore, several members of the West Virginia Dance Company and the lovely Nina Scattaregia. Bridget has attended West Virginia Dance Festival countless times while in high school and college and performed each year. Ms. Bonamico is very excited to teach at The Dance Factory and is thrilled about working with fresh young dancers.
Alison Clausen - Dance Studio, Dance Lessons in Buckhannon, WV

Alison Clausen

Alison brings 20 years of gymnastics experience to TDF. Orginally from Washington, Alison was Level 9 gymnast prior to competing collegiately at Hamline University. While at Hamline, she was the captain of the gymnastics team and compete in three NCGA National Championships. Alison completed her master's degree in Sport Psychology at Ithaca College. While at Ithaca, Alison served as Assistant Gymnastic Coach, where she coached an athlete to the National Title in the Floor Exercise in 2010. Allison has over ten years coaching all levels of gymnastics. She is currently a Level 9 rated judge under the USAG. She is the Assistant Athletic Director at West Virginia Wesleyan College.

Ciara Goff, Dance Instructor

Ciara joins the staff of The Dance Factory this season. Ciara graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2013 with a B. A. in Psychology along with a concentration in Education and a Dance Minor. Ciara attended The Dance Factory throughout elementary and high school and was a member of the Augusta Youth Ballet Company. She is currently working full-time at Wesleyan as the Test Lab Coorrdinator. She is excited to continue and share her intereste and passion for dance as an instructor at her alma mater, The Dance Factory.
Amanda Lanham, Dance Instructor - Dance Studio, Dance Lessons in Buckhannon, WV

Amanda Lanham, Dance Instructor

Amanda is from Charleston, WV and trained at the Academy of Arts at January's from age 3 until she graduated from high school. She attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and received her BFA in International Studies and Dance Minor in 2013. While in college, Amanda performed in Danceworks, the West Virginia State Dance Festival, the American College Dance Festival and Winter Dance Festival at Weselyan. She trained at the Dance Alloy Theatre in Pittsburgh for a special intensive in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, African and Hip Hop. She was awarded the outstanding Dancer award at Wesleyan in 2011. Amanda has taught at January's Academy of Dance and for the Kanwaha County Schools for Kindergarten to fifth grade at JE Robins Elementary. Amanda performed with the Theatre of West Virginia for the 2013 summer season dancing in Hatfields and McCoys, Honey in the Rock, Wizard of Oz and Rocket Boys.

Lance Russell, Assistant Director - Dance Studio, Dance Lessons in Buckhannon, WV

Lance Russell, Assistant Director

Lance Russell graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2010 with a B.A. in Musical Theater and Minor in Dance. Lance is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has trained at several well-known studios and dance academies in the Pittsburgh area studying under the finest teachers. While in high school, Lance earned awards as the top ranking triple threat performer in musical theatre from U.S. Performing Arts in 2003 and 2004. Additional achievements as a young dancer include performing with Chubby Checker, The Village People, Jordin Sparks and a few other recording artists.  During his collegiate years, Lance performed with the West Virginia Symphony and Charleston Ballet Company in West Side Story. He was a chorus member in Verdi’s Requiem with the West Virginia Symphony. Lance performed in multiple shows while at Wesleyan; The Apple Tree, The 1940 Radio Hour, Proof, Gypsy and more. Lance is also an Adjunct Dance Instructor at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Lance received the Teacher Certification I from Dance Teacher University/Dance Teacher Web and University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2013. As the Assistant Director of TDF, Lance teaches the majority of classes in the Early Childhood Program, Musical Theatre classes, advanced jazz and tap and more. This year Lance will establish and direct the new competition groups at The Dance Factory.
Lindsey Sayre, Gymnastics & Dance Instructor - Dance Studio, Dance Lessons in Buckhannon, WV

Lindsey Sayre, Gymnastics & Dance Instructor

Lindsey is currently a student at West Virginia Wesleyan College majoring in Elementary Education major with minors in Gender Studies and Dance.  She is also pursuing a masters degree as a reading specialist. Lindsey is a scholarship recipient for the Dance Minor program at Wesleyan. Lindsey grew up dancing and tumbling at The Dance Factory since the age of 4. During her training at the studio, she also performed with the Augusta Youth Ballet Company in the ballets: The Nutcracker. Coppelia, Alice in Wonderland, and Firebird. During her sophomore year of high school, Lindsey received scholarship to the Governor's School for the Arts. Lindsey has performed in the West Virginia State Dance Festival with the AYBC and has also performed in repertory performances of Danceworks at West Virginia Wesleyan College. "It has been a privilege to be able to dance and tumble at The Dance Factory and now it is an even bigger privilege to be able to teach and share what I have learned."
